Sony Xperia Tablet Z

sony-xperia-tablet-zOne of the unique selling points of the Sony Xperia Tablet Z is its superb design which combines practicality with style. The device itself is aesthetically pleasing as it sports a sleek and minimal design and is incredibly slim and light, making it very portable. Indeed, the tablet is one of the slimmest, if not the slimmest, tablet PC in the world. However, in spite of its diminutive weight, the Sony Xperia Tablet Z is anything but fragile. As the device is made from premium quality materials, it feels very substantial. In addition, like some of the smartphones in Sony’s flagship Xperia line, the Xperia Tablet Z is incredibly durable as it is water resistant up to a meter, can withstand the impact of water jets, is dust resistant and features an anti-shatter glass panel on the front display.

Sony’s latest tablet features a 10.1 inch HD screen with a screen resolution of 1200 x 1920. While it falls just short of Apple’s new Retina Display devices and the latest Nexus tablets, it is one of the better screens out there. However, what really makes Sony stand out from the crowd when it comes to the Sony Xperia Tablet Z’s screen is the technology behind it. The tablet’s display is powered by Mobile BRAVIA® Engine 2 which means that every image displayed on the device is optimized to its very best.

Another great thing about the Sony Xperia Tablet Z is that it has a microSD card slot which means that users can add up to an extra 64GB of memory to tablet’s inbuilt memory. This means that you store a number of large games, films and a whole array of apps and music on the device which is a lot more convenient than cloud storage as it means that you can have access to your files when you are on the train on in an area with poor signal.

Equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor with a quad-core 1.5GHz Krait CPU and a generous 2GB of RAM, Sony’s latest offering is both very responsive and is capable of displaying films and games with no lag.

The device sports an 8MP rear camera and a clear front-facing camera making it perfect for taking photos on the go or for video-calling your friends.

The device runs on Android Jelly Bean 4.3 however, it is expected that Android 4.4 KitKat will soon be available on the tablet. As an Android device, Sony’s tablet is incredibly easy to use and it gives users access to Google’s Play store which is home to more a growing library of more than 1 million apps and games.

The device is available in a choice of black or white and customers can choose between a 16GB model and 32GB model.
