Samsung Galaxy S6

There has been plenty of speculation in tech circles regarding how Samsung will follow up their current flagship the Samsung Galaxy S5. The phone is set for release spring 2015, either in April or March, so not too much longer to wait. While Samsung have tried to keep the details of the phone under wraps until their press conference, there have been a series of leaks and rumours.

In order to make their new flagship competitive with the LG G3, it is expected that the S6 will feature a QHD screen too. In addition, the S6 will feature a similar a double-edged display like the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge. This rumour has been confirmed by the promotional image of the S6 which was displayed on the T-Mobile website (US Version).

Despite the fact that major rivals like HTC and Apple have released metal smartphones, Samsung have stuck to plastic flagships or faux-leather ones. However, it has been rumoured that the upcoming release from Samsung will feature a metal body complete with wireless charging.

It has also been suggested that Samsung Galaxy S6 will be available in a choice of four colours and three internal memory sizes: 32GB, 64GB and 128GB.

Technical Details

In terms of technical specifications, a common expectation is that the upcoming smartphone will feature a 20 megapixel camera and a faster CPU (perhaps 50% faster). In addition, the battery life of the S6 is likely to see some improvements. Indeed, the phone may have a fast charge feature which can deliver 4 hours charge in just 10 minutes. It is expected that the smartphone will be running on Android 5.0 straight out of the box.
