Samsung Galaxy Ace 3

One of Samsung’s most recent releases is the Samsung Galaxy Ace 3. While many of Samsung’s devices that were released in 2013, such as the Samsung Galaxy S4 and the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 were geared towards the higher end of the smartphone market, the Samsung Galaxy Ace 3 is tailored towards the mid-range and budget end. Indeed, the handset is free on a number of contracts that cost less than £20 a month and sim-free the handset costs around £200.

One of the major attractions of the handset is that it has 4G capability, meaning super-fast internet connection speeds. As there are not many budget handsets that have this ability, this definitely makes the Samsung Galaxy Ace 3 stand out from the crowd.

While the device’s specs are not spectacular, especially when you take into consideration some of the excellent devices that Samsung released last year, for a budget smartphone, they’re not too shabby!

It’s great to see that some of the popular features seen in other Samsung models are present in this new handset, such as Smart Stay and S Voice. Smart Stay is an innovative display brightness feature that registers when you are looking at the screen and keeps the screen bright while you are reading. S Voice is Samsung’s voice control feature that can be used to fulfil a range of tasks from answering calls to setting reminders.

The Samsung Galaxy Ace 3 runs on Android 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean). While this is not the latest edition of the Android operating system, it is still an excellent OS. Android Jelly Bean is incredibly user-friendly and gives you access to the Google Play store where you can pick up the latest apps and games from Google’s burgeoning library.

The device is equipped with 8GB of internal storage and 1024MB RAM. While this is only half the capacity of the Samsung Galaxy S4, it is a notable step up from the Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 and relatively standard in this market.

The device boasts a bright 4 inch screen with 480 x 800 pixel resolution. This means that the screen is big enough for you to comfortably read an e-book or watch films on the Samsung Galaxy Ace 3.

In the camera department, the Samsung Galaxy Ace 3 ranks pretty well. Samsung’s latest offering comes with a 5MP snapper, complete with LED flash, and a 0.3MP front-facing camera.

As with most Samsung phones, the device is made from plastic and has a chrome band around the edge of the device, giving it a more premium appearance and making it feel sturdy in your hand. You can purchase the handset in either black or white.

If you are looking for a relatively cheap Android smartphone from reputable manufacturer and that has 4G, the Samsung Galaxy Ace 3 may well be the smartphone for you.
