Nokia Lumia 930

Nokia Lumia 930 big

While the Windows Phone operating system has been around for years, it has often struggled to compete against the likes of Android and Apple’s iOS in the smartphone market. However, the Nokia Lumia 930 loaded with the new Windows Phone 8.1 software is set to reassert Microsoft’s position in the mobile market.

As with other smartphones in the Nokia Lumia range, the Nokia Lumia 930 features a black front panel and a back panel which is available in a range of vibrant shades, such as orange and green, as well as low-key black and white. An attractive grey, aluminium band runs around the edge of the phone, giving it a sturdy feel and effectively breaking up the colours.

The back panel of the Nokia supports wireless charging and the package even includes a wireless charging plate. This is a much better set up than predescors which had an optional wireless charging back plate.

The Nokia Lumia 930 has an impressive AMOLED ClearBlack 4.5 inch HD screen which allows for deep blacks and authentic colour reproduction. In addition, this technology means that the Nokia Lumia 930 is great to use outdoors, even in bright sunlight!

One of the most impressive features of the Nokia Lumia 930 is its formidable camera. Complete with a 20MP sensor and Carl Zeiss optics, it is one of the best mobile phone cameras out there. The Nokia Camera App has a range of creativity options allowing you to tweak your photos to perfection before sharing with friends and family via social media.

Music lovers will be pleased to know that the Nokia Lumia 930 comes with Nokia MixRadio which allows you to listen to hundreds of ad-free music mixes for free. All mixes are regularly updated and are available offline!

One of the biggest attractions of the Nokia Lumia 930 is its new Windows operating system. With this edition of the Windows Phone OS, there are many improvements to be seen. To begin with, Microsoft has improved the customisability of the Live Tile home screen by adding more tile sizes and an additional column. The keyboard interface has been notably upgraded too. As opposed to just tapping in letters, you can swipe from one letter to another and the intuitive dictionary will work out what you are trying to say. This mimics the technology seen in Android phones and with a bit of practice leads to faster typing.
