LG Mini

LG’s latest development is the LG G2. Keeping in line with the ‘phablet’ trend seen throughout the smartphone market, LG have chosen to give their latest device a large HD touchscreen with almost no bezel. This makes it a great device for those of us of us who love to use our smartphones to watch videos or catch up on our favourite television programs!

Perhaps the most distinguishing feature of the LG G2 is its unique design. Unlike many other popular smartphones, there are no buttons on the front of the phone. Instead, LG have decided to place a button on the reverse panel on the LG G2 that can be used to control the LG G2’s volume and power. Although users frequently comment that this button placement takes some time to get used to, LG suggest that rear button makes the LG G2 more ergonomically designed than conventional smartphones.

As well as having a distinct design, the LG G2 has a number of unique and intelligent features that really make it stand out from the crowd. The Answer Me function recognizes when the phone is being picked up and as a result lowers the volume of the ringer. In addition, the Knock On feature allows you to wake the phone from sleep mode by simply double tapping the screen. Though these features are relatively simple, they are innovative and useful.

To rival Apple’s Siri and Samsung’s S Voice, the LG G2 has Voice Mate. The voice controlled application can be activated by saying the keyword or by selecting the app on screen. You can use Voice Mate to perform a whole array of tasks including, setting and alarm, sending a message or searching the internet. You can even just ask voice mate a question!

The LG G2 runs on Android, an operating system developed by Google that is used on a range of smartphones and tablet devices. The popularity of Android operating system owes much to the fact that Android is designed specifically for devices with a touch display and the Android Market boasts around 975,000 apps. It is easy to see why a number of the top smartphone manufacturers are using this operating system!
