Google Chromecast released in UK

TV lovers across the UK will be pleased to know that Google Chromecast has finally made its way to the UK. Google teased the market by releasing the Google Chromecast app back in December and now followed through with the launch of the actual product.

So what is Google Chromecast?

In essence, Google Chromecast is a service that allows you to stream internet media straight to your TV by connecting a small dongle into one of the HDMI ports on your television. So, no more watching your favourite Netflix series on your small laptop screen, with Google Chromecast you will be able to enjoy Youtube, Netflix and more on larger screen with better sound quality! As well as streaming, Chromecast users can also purchase films and television series from the Google Play Store for very competitive prices.

The Google Chromecast dongle measures 72 x 35 x 12mm and clocks in at a mere 34g making it a  very unobtrusive device. Another great thing about the device is that it is incredibly easy to set up which means even the least tech-savvy TV watchers can benefit from Chromecast.

One of the great things about Google Chromecast is that you can control what you watch on the TV using the app on your tablet, smartphone or laptop. This eliminated the age-old problem of losing the remote! In addition, it is worth mentioning that the app is not exclusively for Android users but is supported by a whole range of platforms such as Windows, iOS and Mac.

Google Chromecast is now available in the UK for the competitive price of £30.
